The Center received its initial funding from the EU funded project Programmable Artificial Cell Evolution (PACE) which is integrated project for Future Emergent Technologies in the thematic area Information Society Technologies of the 6th Framework Programme, contract n. 002035. PACE is aimed at the development of programmable artificial cells, basic research which leads to an example of living technology. The Center's initial activities are focused on organizing workshops and visitors in collaboration with the research conducted in the PACE project, to promote training and the diffusion of the project's scientific results. The Center will seek additional funding to support a wider range of activities as it grows and develops. |
