Research Fellow - European Centre for Living Technology Research Area
System and Synthetic Biology Focus Area
In vitro evolution of protein and nucleic acid Short Bio
Stefano Zanconato is a molecular biologist who works in the LivingTech Lab at the European Centre for Living Technology. He graduated in 2008 in Molecular Biology at the University of Padova with a thesis entitled “DNA reparation systems in human fybroblasts irradiated with gamma rays”. His main research areas regard in vitro evolution of protein and nucleic acids as means to investigate the emergence and evolution of Life on Earth. In the actual project he explores the Synthetic Proteins to find new macromolecules, that do not exist in nature, capable to simulate biological reactions.
