Short Bio

Giovanni Minervini s currently a postdoctoral fellow at the LivingTech Laboratory at the European Centre for Living Technology. He graduated in 2005 in Biological Science at the University of Rome “Roma Tre”. In the 2008-2009 he collaborated with Irena Roterman’s group at Jagiellonian University of Krakow (Poland) in the study of the chemical property of artificial proteins. He pursued a PhD degree in 2009 under the supervision of Prof. Fabio Polticelli. His main research interests have been focused on the characterization of the activity of oxidant enzymes and the study of structural property of random proteins as means to investigate the evolution of natural proteins. At the European Centre for Living Technology his efforts will be direct toward the application of computational biochemistry techniques applied to short polypeptides with the ultimate goal to develop novel “alternative enzymes” that do not exist in natures.
